Well, the past week was quite eventful. Saturday, our friends, Teresa and Jeremy, helped us move out of our old place and into the new (pics of Chihiro and I, and Chihiro and Teresa taking a moving break). Saturday night was our first night in the new home (pic of sunrise from our bedroom window). What a great feeling to be in your first home!
Sunday we spent most of the day just getting ready for Monday. Movers came on Monday to
bring all of our stuff out of storage. It was 7 months to the day that we packed up our belongings in State College to be reunited with the cargo in Rock Springs, WY. Chihiro and I took the day off to inventory all of our belongings and make sure everything was still in working order. Pretty much everything was fine except for a few missing plastic totes and a damaged desk roller wheel. Not too bad for a cross country move I must say.
Had a fiasco with Home Depot concerning our appliances on Tuesday. Our fridge and range were damaged en route from Salt Lake City to Rock Springs. No one told the Rock Springs store that the two appliances were being sent back and new ones ordered. Our builder
showed up to deliver the appliances and only the washer and dryer were there. After a lengthy discussion with the manager at Home Depot in Rock Springs, we received a "loaner fridge" on Wednesday so that we could move our perishables from our old place to our new place. Range and new fridge should be here next week.
Thursday, we got the washer and dryer hooked up. And this morning, the cable and internet guys came to get us "coaxially" connected. I barely managed to get most of the boxes in the living room put in another room so they could get our faceplates installed. Whew!

Still waaaaaaaay behind (see pic of status of living room). Major project today is to get the dryer exhaust fan installed and the 50 loads of laundry piled up washed. My friend Keith from Penn State who now lives and works in Riverton as a soil scientist (same job I am doing) will be our first official guest in the new pad tonight.

We're so thankful and excited for the new house. More later on further developments from the land that rises from the plains, Wyoming! Peace,
Drew

Whew! I was going through withdrawal. It was sick; I was compulsively checking the RSS feed. :-) But seriously, I was wondering if you gave up on the blog. Great to see everything coming together and I look forward to seeing more pictures. Keep 'em coming.
