Just finished a great book this weekend from my friend, Adam, in Pennsylvania. The book is "Biodiesel - Growing a New Energy Economy" by Greg Pahl (2005); a very readable and non-technical approach to this very promising renewable fuels market. I liked that he gave a concise history of Rudolf Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine, as well as explained in plain english how to make biodiesel. His perspective is global giving examples from many different countries focusing their efforts on using biodiesel. Not sure if I can go the route of biodiesel right now living in Wyoming with subzero temperatures, but as soon as I get to a more temperate climate, I'm down for this very viable energy alternative.
Hope you can check this book out. It's available at Powells Bookstore located in Portland, OR (a must see if you're ever there...takes up a whole city block!). Or you can click here for a link to order it online at the same store.

And thanks again to you, Adam, for giving me this book. I really enjoyed it! Good luck on your thesis defense this week!

Thanks, Scoot! I'm just starting a book "Natural Capitalism" by one of the authors of the book you just sent me. A friend of mine who worked at the Rocky Mountain Institute gave it to me a few months back. Small world! Hope the recumbent and PA are treating you well! Cya!
